Example: Divide 0.539 by 0.11

Hello everyone; check this example that will help you understand better. It is taken from www.mathisfun.com

Move the decimal point so the divisor (0.11) is a whole number:
move 2 spaces
0.539right arrow5.39right arrow53.9
0.11right arrow1.1right arrow11
move 2 spaces
But what about 53.9? It still has a decimal point.
Well, we can ignore the decimal point in the dividend so long as we remember to put it back later. First we do the calculation without the decimal point:
     049
11)539
     0
     53
     44
      99
      99
       0
Now put the decimal point in the answer directly above the decimal point in the dividend:
     04.9
11)53.9

The answer is 4.9
